Grade 4 Water Certification is required.
Certification in Gas issued from the State of Alabama or Alabama Public Service Commission is preferred.
EDUCATION:
Preferably a B.
S.
Degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting or Finance or some other college degree with equivalent years of experience and/or certification.
Experience:
Preferably experience in management, preferably in a public utility.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The General Manager is the chief officer of the Water Works and Gas Board of the City of Red Bay, working under a five-member Board appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
He/she is responsible for carrying out the directives and policies of the Board, advising the Board about the laws, contracts and regulations which must be observed and keeping the Board apprised of the status of the Water Works and Gas system of the City of Red Bay, both physically and financially.
He/she will work with the staff and all employees to provide utility services to the utilities' customers in a courteous and professional manner, keeping the welfare and safety of both the employees and the general public in mind.
